Welcome to Sentinel Kabitaka Secondary

Sentinel Kabitaka Secondary is located within the Kabitaka Hills Estate and shares a campus with Sentinel Kabitaka Primary.

Educating students from across the country and beyond, the school promotes a culture of community while creating an environment that allows students to actualize their individual potential. Teaching staff inculcate a drive for personal excellence in the students and the students in turn build lifelong relationships while becoming the embodiment of the school’s values of Respect, Responsibility, Reflection, Innovation, Integrity and Industry.

In an increasingly evolving world, our teaching pedagogy incorporates the use of mixed media and field excursions to promote team-work, critical thinking, problem-solving and create responsible digital citizens.

About Us

Students attend Sentinel Kabitaka’s Secondary School after completing their primary schooling at either SKAB or SKAL Primary. In order to prepare them for the external examinations they will take during this stage of their education, additional focus is placed on aspects such as study skills, organizational abilities and autonomous learning during their first years (Years 7 – 8).

To prepare for the Examination Council of Zambia’s (ECZ) examinations in Years 7 and 9, additional content for the ECZ curriculum is also introduced. Presently the school is phasing out the Year 7 and Year 9 examinations over a 4 year period in line with changes made to the Zambian Curriculum. By the year 2029, the school will offer ECZ to primary students only and full IGCSE to all secondary.

International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)

We provide the Cambridge IGCSE examinations over three years (Years 10 – 12) at our Kabitaka campus – a fully registered Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE) centre. Students take the exams in the October/November session of their senior year.

For the ECZ Year 7 and Year 9 exams, we are a fully authorized examination centre.

With topic specialists for science and technology, music, art, physical education and home economics, our Year 7 students are fully instructed to excel in the eight examinable subjects.

Our Year 9 students have optional subjects that include Music, Art, Physical Education, French, Drama and Religious Education. To supplement the teaching of French as an Additional Language in the school, students may elect to sit for the DELF (Diplôme Elementaire de Langue Française) A1 assessment with the Alliance Française.
