Pastoral & Boarding

Welfare is at the core of our approach to pastoral care.

In the course of the school day, students can consult with various staff for guidance on personal, interpersonal and academic matters.Parents are engaged when there is need for a collaborative approach to addressing student concerns. School assemblies and Form-Tutor-Time create fora where awareness is raised on various topics. Several specialists are invited to raise awareness on areas of PSHE concern such as drug abuse, gender-based violence and reproductive health. In the boarding section of the school, the pastoral team ensures that the school’s hostels and kitchen are conducive environments for students and staff to thrive in.As a pillar, the Pastoral team collaborate closely with the Service, Academic and Sustainability Pillars teams to drive respective agendas cohesively.

As the drivers of the education provision, it is important that our staff are equally supported in their welfare needs. The Pastoral Pillar also works to ensure that the teaching and support staff feel valued and recognised in their respective responsibilities.

Upon graduation, our students are welcomed into our Alumni community where we keep them updated of changes and events in the school as well as tracking their progression from tertiary education to career. Our further education placement programme works to position each student on a career trajectory that best aligns with their strengths and interests.
